Favorite by many since childhood, the Monastic hut cake can be easily prepared at home. At the same time, you will be absolutely sure of the quality of the ingredients and the composition of the finished dessert. The presented recipe for making a cherry cake guarantees a combination of a unique taste of cherries and crispy rolls with sweet sour cream, which are deliciously combined with chocolate and nuts.
To bake a cake you will need:
- sifted wheat flour, 4 cups;
- cherry, 700 gr. (may be fresh or frozen);
- sour cream, 250 gr;
- margarine, 250 gr;
- sugar, ½ cup;
- salt, a pinch;
- nuts and / or chocolate, 50 gr;
To make sour cream you need the following products:
- fat sour cream, 800 gr;
- sugar, ½ cup;
- vanillin.
How to make a Monastyrskaya Izba cake
To prepare such a yummy as in the photo, we start by removing the seeds from the cherry, adding a small amount of granulated sugar, mix and set aside so that the berries are saturated with sugar. If frozen cherries are used, then it must be thawed in advance and allowed to drain excess liquid.
Cut the margarine into small cubes, mix it thoroughly with flour, sugar, sour cream, salt and put the finished dough in the refrigerator for 1.5 hours.
We take out the chilled and “rested” dough, divide it into 3 identical parts, roll each one into a layer (about 25 by 25 cm), cut each layer into 5 identical strips, in the center of which we put berries in a row and twist the tubes.

This is done very simply: beat sugar, sour cream and vanilla with a mixer or whisk and put it in the refrigerator to set.
