Homemade peanut butter
Peanut butter has ceased to be an overseas delicacy. You can buy it freely in the nearest supermarket. But you can cook it yourself, and for this you need only three components and a blender. Today I will share my experience of making delicious peanut butter at home. It is no different from the store counterpart, except for greater naturalness. 🙂 And also, its cost will pleasantly please you, because if there is no difference, why pay more?
Ingredients:
- peeled peanuts - 500 gr;
- powdered sugar - 1 tbsp;
- salt - 1 pinch.
As you can see, we have a minimum of ingredients. It is better to take peeled peanuts, this will greatly save your time and effort. However, by the same principle, you can cook pasta from unpeeled peanuts.
How to make peanut butter at home
First of all, we need to roast raw peanuts to get a light golden color and a pleasant aroma. I do it in a pan. Pour the peanuts into a clean heavy-bottomed pan and fry it, stirring occasionally. The color and taste of the finished paste will depend on the degree of roasting of the peanuts. You can choose the roast that suits your taste.
If you have peeled peanuts, go to the next step. If it is in the husk, then let it cool a little and rub it between the palms. The husk is easily separated from the roasted beans.
You can also roast peanuts in the oven. It is advisable to choose a large baking sheet on which it will fit in one layer. Heat the grains in an oven preheated to 160 degrees to the desired degree of roasting, approximately 10-15 minutes.
Pour the roasted peanuts into a blender and start grinding. At first, we just have rough pieces.
With further grinding, the peanuts turn into small crumbs. Oil starts to stand out, the crumb becomes slightly wet and sticks together - we are on the right track. 🙂
We continue to grind, a little more effort and the crumbs stuck together turn into a paste.
Add salt on the tip of a knife and powdered sugar to it. You can, if desired, replace it with honey. Whisk the pasta again until smooth.
You can choose the degree of grinding at your discretion: bring it to almost complete smoothness or leave small pieces of peanuts. In any case, it will be very tasty.
