New Year's tangerine cake - a delicious homemade dessert for the New Year
A beautiful and delicious homemade cake is the final point of any feast. At least that's how it is in my family. 🙂 I can afford to treat guests with baked chicken legs and mashed potatoes, but they expect an enchanting cake from me. Therefore, I approach the search for a New Year's cake with all responsibility. I want to share with you a proven recipe that has earned the warm approval of my entire family. My New Year's tangerine cake is a delicious tall handsome man, which includes:
- 4 layers of fragrant walnut-tangerine biscuit ;
- coffee and cognac impregnation;
- tangerine jam;
- chocolate butter custard with cognac.
Such a great combination of flavors will not leave anyone indifferent. Delight and admiration for the confectionery talent of the hostess is guaranteed to be provided. To facilitate the cooking process, I advise you to break the preparation into two days. In the evening, bake a biscuit and make jam, and in the morning or the next day, prepare a cream and assemble the cake.

Walnut biscuit:
- chicken eggs - 8 pcs.;
- ground walnuts - 250 gr;
- sugar - 250 gr;
- ground white crackers - 100 gr;
- tangerine - 2 pcs.
Mandarin Jam:
- tangerines - 5-6 pcs.;
- sugar - 200 gr;
- water - 125 ml.
Impregnation:
- boiling water - 125 ml;
- sugar - 1 tbsp;
- instant coffee - 1 tablespoon;
- cognac - 2 tbsp.
Chocolate cream:
- butter - 250g;
- dark chocolate - 150g;
- sugar - 100g;
- chicken eggs - 2 pcs.;
- milk - 125 ml;
- corn starch - 1 tbsp. with a slide;
- cognac - 2 tbsp.

How to make a tangerine cake for the New Year
From the indicated ingredients, you need to bake 2 biscuits in the form of 22-23 cm. I immediately knead a large portion of the dough and bake two cakes. If you can’t bake the cakes at the same time, then it’s better to cook the biscuit dough twice - it doesn’t like to wait.
Pre-cook tangerine jam.
We whip up a delicious buttercream. A detailed step-by-step recipe with a photo of the preparation of each component, I hope you have already found the links at the beginning of the text.
Cut the cooled biscuits across into two layers. We get 4 biscuit semi-finished products.
For impregnation, dissolve sugar and coffee in boiling water. Pour cognac into the liquid that has cooled to room temperature. The cakes are not dry, but guests who love wet cakes were expected, therefore, I decided to please them additionally.
With a brush or a teaspoon, we impregnate the biscuit from the side of the cut.
Lubricate it with a layer of tangerine jam.
Now it's the turn of the cream.
We continue, similarly alternating layers, to collect the cake. Only the last biscuit layer is placed on the cake cut down. So we impregnate it from the top side. We cover the formed biscuit New Year's cake with cream.
I put 2 full tablespoons of cream in a pastry bag in advance and use the star nozzle to decorate the cake.
We decorate the top of the cake to taste. I sprinkled the center with ground walnuts and applied a lattice of melted chocolate. Dropped off the cream border.
Before serving, the tangerine cake should be infused in the cold for 2-3 hours. If you wait all night, it will be even tastier. 🙂 After that, you can enjoy a delicious piece of our sweet masterpiece.
