Confectionery glitter - food glitter for cakes
You always want to decorate any homemade cake in the most unusual way. I offer a recipe for making confectionery glitter, which is used for decoration in desserts. Such bright and beautiful food sequins for cakes can be made with a sweet taste by adding sugar to water. Today I will tell you about how to make confectionery glitter at home in my recipe with step-by-step photos taken.
We will need:
- 6 grams of gelatin;
- 15 ml of drinking water;
- 2 drops of red food coloring;
- ¼ teaspoon of golden kandurin.
How to make edible cake glitter
Gelatin, no matter the powder or sheet you took, soak in water until it swells well. Then, we lower the bowl with gelatin into a container with boiling water and mix until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
Now, it's time to add food coloring and kandurin. We mix the mixture until the paint and kandurin are completely dissolved. You should get a beautiful color with a golden tint - like in my photo.
We take a food film or a dense file. Pour the entire contents of the bowl onto it and level it over the entire surface to make a very thin layer. We forget about it for a day. Let it lie at room temperature and solidify.
After a day, the glitter dries well and does not stick to your hands.
We remove it from the file and tear it like paper into pieces.
We put the pieces in a blender / coffee grinder and grind to the size you need.
Food sequins for cakes are ready. Store confectionery glitter in a dry container with a lid.
