Cake Napoleon from ready-made puff pastry with custard and chocolate icing
Before March 8, you always want to prepare everything in advance so that on this day you can relax and enjoy life. Therefore, I baked a delicious and easy-to-prepare Napoleon cake from ready-made dough in advance. The result, as always, exceeded all expectations. It turned out amazingly soft and delicious. I suggest you make your own simple recipe for a delicious Napoleon with custard and chocolate icing at home on your own. The recipe not only describes the preparation in detail, but also step-by-step photographs clearly illustrate the process.
So we need:
- puff pastry yeast (ready) - 400 grams;
- custard - 300-400 grams;
- chocolate icing - 100 grams;
- red currant - 50 grams;
- butter - for greasing the baking sheet;
- flour - for working with dough.
How to bake Napoleon from ready-made dough
Defrost the finished puff pastry, carefully reading the instructions on the package. I take yeast dough, which is great for making a cake.
Starting to cook, sprinkle the table with flour and put the dough on it. Divide the dough into 4 layers, if they are not divided in the package. Roll out each layer, about four millimeters thick. Cut out a circle the size of a medium plate.
Pierce all circles with a fork. Leave in a warm place, without draft, so that the dough increases in volume.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil. I have foil that needs to be greased with butter so that the dough does not stick. Transfer one or two circles of dough to a baking sheet. Bake until light golden. This takes about ten minutes. Set the oven temperature to 175-185 degrees.
Put the finished cake layers on a plate until they are all ready.
Custard can be bought ready-made in a package or you can make your own. I usually use milk vanilla custard for a cake or microwave custard for 5 minutes. You can find out how to cook it correctly and quickly by clicking on the appropriate link in the ingredients. Lubricate the cake with ready-made cream.
Top with chocolate icing. For a cake, you can melt a chocolate bar or prepare chocolate icing from cocoa and sugar with sour cream and milk. Step-by-step icing recipe, also, link in the ingredients.
Decorate Napoleon from the finished dough with red currants and crumbs from the cakes, if any. Leave the cake to soak for at least 2-3 hours.
My child did not have the strength to wait for the cake to soak. Therefore, I cut off a piece for him immediately. This is what a delicious Napoleon cake with custard and chocolate icing looks like in a section immediately after cooking.
And this is what the cut of the cake looks like, after three hours.
The difference is noticeable both in appearance and taste. Therefore, it is better to be patient and wait. The pastry tastes like a delicate cloud that melts in your mouth. Pleasantly complements and sets off the taste of the cake, the sourness of red currant. Cook with love for yourself and your loved ones. Happy baking! 🙂
